Each summer Purdue hosts one of the largest wine competitions in the country bringing in wines and judges from around the world. This year?s competition saw over 2,400 wines from 15 countries and 40 states.
The winery entered five of its Vino Florida brand wines and brought home seven awards. The winery received gold medals for both its Pure Paradise Mango wine, produced 100 percent from mango, and for Orwi, its 100 percent Florida orange wine.
Two bronze medals were received for its Paradise Cream Sherry and Grawi 100 percent Florida grapefruit wine.
The big winner of the week was the winery?s Pirate Mead honey wine. Made entirely out of Florida orange blossom honey, Pirate Mead was the recipient of a double gold medal as well as winner of Best in Class honey wine.
This is the winery?s fourth year of crafting wines.
The winery is located in John?s Pass Village.
